“Maya Deren: Experimental Filmmaker”

For my COM 385, experimental media course, I conducted an hour-long presentation on the life and work of Maya Deren. Showcasing films such as “Meshes in the Afternoon”, “At Land” and “Ritual in Transfigured Time”, I analyze the recurring themes and experimental practices Deren utilized in her groundbreaking works.

“Semester-long Film Analysis: I Saw the TV Glow

For my semester long film analysis project in COM 352, Advanced Cinema, I delved deep into the themes, elements and narrative of one of my favorite recent films “I Saw the TV Glow” (2024). Directed and written by nonbinary filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun, during an hour and a half long period I explore the films deeper meanings as a trans allegory and a push to explore one’s true inner self.
